Medical Skin Needling

Medical Skin Needling - or microneedling - is a relatively new treatment gaining in popularity as treatment gives results similar to CO2 laser resurfacing - without the downtime or risks (or pain!)

At Assure Medispa, we use the Medik8 Titanium Dermaroller for treatments.  As they are made of titanium, the needles of this dermaroller retain sharpness for longer and they are gold coated as an aid to maintaining sterility.

Medical Skin Needling treats the dermis - the layer of skin beneath the very outer layer (known as the epidermis).  Collagen and elastin are present in the dermis, not the epidermis.  By targetting the dermis, Medical Skin Needling improves collagen and elastin which results in improved condition to your skin and a reduction in scarring (eg acne scarring).

You may choose to have a single treatment - then you can take your dermaroller home (along with some sterilizing solution) to use for up to three months.  However, to achieve maximum effect, we would recommend a series of three treatments, retaining your dermaroller for future treatments whilst providing you with an additional take-home dermaroller for your own use.

Medical Skin Needling is a recommended treatment for aging skin, acne scarring, reduction of blackheads and open pores, and pigmentation. 

Starting prices range from $175 to $500 for a single treatment, and a treatment takes 45 minutes.  Although downtime is minimal, it may take up to 48 hours for the redness to subside so we wouldn't recommend this as a "lunchtime" treatment.
