Microdermabrasion Perth

Microdermabrasion technology can easily bring you a step closer to realising healthier, younger looking skin.

Microdermabrasion is commonly called the ‘lunch-time peel’. It is a non-invasive skin resurfacing procedure using crystals accelerated onto the skin’s surface to abrade layers of dead and damaged skin. Skin with acne scars, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles will benefit significantly from Microdermabrasion. Treatment refines skin pores, renews elasticity and gives a youthful, healthy glow.

Microdermabrasion treatment is fast and pain-free, leaving little or no redness. Microdermabrasion is used to treat and minimise difficult skin conditions, or just to rejuvenate and maintain the health of the skin. It leaves skin smoother, brighter and firmer, with immediate results.

Microdermabrasion FAQ's

What is microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is sometimes called the “Lunch Time Peel”. It is a non-invasive process using crystals accelerated onto the skin's surface to abrade layers of dead and damaged cells. On completion of the abrasive process, the vacuum suction whisks away the residual crystals and unwanted abraded skin particles, leaving your skin smoother, brighter, firmer and, with a course of treatments, problem free.

Which skin problems will microdermabrasion treat?

  • Tired and dull looking skin
  • Congested skin with open pores
  • Acne prone skin
  • Deep frown lines and lip lines
  • Pigmentation and skin discolouration
  • New stretch marks (must be pink)
  • Sun damaged skin
  • Pitted, post acne scarred skin
  • Scar blending and improvement
  • Aging skin with fine lines and wrinkles
  • Aging skin on the body and the hands
  • Skin blemishes from ingrown hairs
  • Unclear complexion with blackheads

What benefits can I expect from having this procedure?

You will see an immediate visible result of brighter, firmer, and clearer skin, however, a program will be recommended depending on your skin condition and your personal goals.

How will the microdermabrasion pressure feel on my skin?

The procedure is hygienic, painless and safe. Remember, it is not a facial but a treatment designed to achieve results. The abrasion of the skin has a scratchy feeling and, depending on the strength of the treatment, you may experience slight redness and a wind burnt feeling which subsides 2 to 24 hours after your treatment.

What will happen to my skin after microdermabrasion?

Your skin may or may not be red and feel “wind burnt” for up to 24 hours. Each person's skin reacts differently to microdermabrasion. The first treatment is performed at a moderate level so that we may see how an individual's skin responds. From day 2 to 5, the skin may become tight and dry and a light peeling effect may occur. From days 5 to 10, the skin becomes luminous, more hydrated and healthier looking.

How do I care for my skin after microdermabasion?

Microdermabrasion increases microcirculation, bringing nutrients to the skin and improving the appearance of imperfections. For the first 5 days after your treatment, we ask that you do not use a moisturiser containing oil as this will affect the exfoliation process. We will recommend an appropriate Skincare Prescription designed uniquely for you. An appropriate physical sunscreen should be applied to the skin every morning to protect the skin.

Are there any precautions I must take whilst undergoing these treatments?

It is recommended that you refrain from having any other invasive or non-invasive procedures if you are having deeper microdermabrasion. Waxing is not recommended 2 days prior to and for at least 7 days after your treatment. The use of sun beds or sunbaking is strongly advised against and swimming in heavily chlorinated water should be avoided for 2 to 5 days after your treatment. If you are having treatment with wrinkle relaxants or dermal fillers, or facial tattooing, don't plan to do this for at least 21 days following your microdermabrasion. If you are using Vitamin A products on your skin, you may resume using them 10 days after the treatment.
